Tweddle is undergoing a number of significant changes as we approach our 97th year. These will continue to position Tweddle as an organisation that adapts to the changing needs of government, families and the community.
As we approach the launch of a modern family pod in November, there are three exciting initiatives that we’d like to share.
We’ve been busy working on a new website. This provided the opportunity to refresh Tweddle’s brand by using the existing colours of aqua and orange (previously used by our Psychology and In Home programs).
Beverley Allen, Tweddle’s new General Manager, Professional Development, Education and Research, is heading up a new training arm of Tweddle. The goal of the new unit will be to establish research partnerships and to deliver leading professional development and parenting workshops. Our new Professional Development page details our current training packages.
We will soon be launching our ‘One Hundred Dads’ project.
Many people know of Tweddle’s successful Working Out Dads program, a therapeutic after hours program for dads of 0-4 aged children. The program combines one hour of facilitated discussion and a 30 minute workout for ten dads. In 2016/17 Tweddle ran seven Working Out Dads programs which saw fifty-nine Dads from 17 suburbs across Melbourne’s west take part in the 6 week, evidence informed program.
Tweddle has a goal to raise $100,000 to support one hundred dads to participate in ten, 6 week Working Out Dads programs. We are seeking businesses and individuals to help us reach our goal by June 2018 with recruiting for groups commencing in July 2018.
Tweddle’s ‘One Hundred Dads’ is a social impact investing project. Donations to One Hundred Dads are tax deductible. The One Hundred Dads Project will change your community, one dad at a time.
$100,000 will see Tweddle launch ten Working Out Dads programs for one hundred dads in the six western municipalities of Melbourne including Maribyrnong, Wyndham, Brimbank, Moonee Valley, Melton and Hobsons Bay.
