During 16 Days of Activism, Tweddle is taking part in a campaign to end family violence called ”Strengthening Hospital Responses to Family Violence’. Tweddle families are invited to ‘leaf’ a message on our ‘tree’ which will form a ‘Forest of Hope’ on Monday 10th December. Family or domestic violence affects children because they are exposed to an environment of uncertainty and fear. Not only does domestic violence affect an unborn baby, infants and toddlers who have been exposed to domestic violence are at risk of physical injury, lack of attachment to a caregiver and normal response to adults, development of post traumatic stress disorder, development of eating problems, sleep difficulties, delayed physical and mental development.

Leave your message of hope on social media using the hashtag #HearMeToo, #16days and #OrangetheWorld.

We encourage people to wear a touch of orange on the 10th of December to symbolise a brighter future, free from family violence.

If you are experiencing or at risk of family violence, it is important to seek help by calling 1800 Respect (1800 737 732)
