International Nurses Day  12th May

International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world every May 12, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth. Tweddle recognises the valuable contribution by our team of dedicated nurses who work day and night to care for families.  For 95 years Tweddle’s midwives, mothercraft nurses and registered nurses have helped parents through incredibly stressful times.

Tweddle Nurse Unit Manager Penny Lyne spoke passionately about the nursing team who provide support to families around the clock “When families arrive at Tweddle they are often very tired and stressed.  They have come into Tweddle in need of support and information that will help them to make positive changes in their family".

"Our nurses have the sensitive role of helping families to unpack what has often been months or more of trying to cope. We work with each parents’ goals and spend time building skills, confidence and understanding of their children.  Mums and Dads often talk about the joy of seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and about feeling more confident about their relationship with their child.  It’s an honour for each of our nurses to provide this specialised support”.
