Tweddle commend the release of 'Victoria's Vulnerable Children' strategy 2013-2022

Posted by Kerrie Gottliebsen | 15/05/13

It’s been twelve months since the Government and the Protecting Victoria's Vulnerable Children's Inquiry Panel handed down their comprehensive report and vision for systemic change to services for vulnerable families. This has been followed by the Victoria’s Vulnerable Children – Our Shared Responsibility strategy.

Released on the 3 May 2013 by Minister for Community Services Mary Wooldridge, the strategy emphasises a shared responsibility across government, the service sector and the community to improve outcomes for vulnerable children.

The strategy draws together all parts of government that have a responsibility for the health, social and economic factors that can make someone vulnerable and potentially lead to child abuse and neglect. It provides a set of goals, key outcomes and indicators that aim to reduce the incidence of vulnerability.

This new ten year strategy informs the work of Tweddle which is reflected in our 2012-2017 Strategic Plan.  Tweddle supports vulnerable children by providing parenting support to families during pregnancy and with children from birth to school age.  Our teams work in partnership with integrated health service providers to deliver programs that connect families to their community support networks.
