Tweddle's online hub supporting dads.

Posted by Kerrie Gottliebsen | 11/02/13

The Fatherhood Research Bulletin produced by Dr.Richard Fletcher on behalf of the University of Newcastle's Australian Fatherhood Research Network explores the latest research, education, resources, policy and practice affecting dads today. The January 2013 issue looked at Tweddle's online 'dads information centre'.

Tweddle promotes a father inclusive practice and dads are encouraged to attend all programs. Almost one in ten fathers develop postnatal depression and supporting dads is important to us. Our dads page was created after research from The Family Action Centre suggested that more could be done for dads seeking help about parenting and depression. Many fathers attending Tweddle with their families are diagnosed with stress, anxiety, depression and fatigue.  On top of this, many of their partners are not coping or have post natal depression.

Tweddle’s aim is to create a hub of support, empathy and education in a bloke friendly environment which will in turn help the whole family. For more information about subscribing to The Fatherhood Research Bulletin email  Dr. Richard Fletcher
